A Dreamy Summer Elopement in Tofino.

A Dawson Creek couple flew to Tofino for the first time to elope under golden summer skies at Tonquin Beach. A warm, quiet, magical evening elopement on Vancouver Island.

When R + C first reached out, they told me they had never been to Tofino.. but the moment they saw it online, they just knew this was the place they wanted to get married. They booked flights from Dawson Creek, packed their wedding outfits, and decided to fully trust Tofino’s magic.

Getting Ready at Their Tofino Airbnb

I met them at their Airbnb, tucked among trees with the softest coastal light coming through the windows. They were doing their final touches of getting ready, helping each other with details, laughing, settling nerves, and soaking in the start of their day.

There was a quiet sweetness in those moments. No rush, no audience, just the two of them in a place they were experiencing for the very first time.

Everything felt so intentional and special.

Private Vows on the Deck

Before heading out, they exchanged private vows on the wooden deck in the backyard. The air felt still and warm, and their words felt beautifully intimate, the kind that stay with you long after the day ends.

It was simple and deeply personal, a moment just the two of them, surrounded by trees and the salty coastal air drifting in from the ocean.

Heading to Tonquin Beach for Their Ceremony

After vows, we made our way down the forest trail to Tonquin Beach, one of my favourite places in all of Tofino. Summer evenings here feel like a dream. Warm air, soft light, and the sound of waves rolling gently onto the shore.

When we walked onto the sand, it looked like we had the entire beach to ourselves. It was one of those rare, quiet Tofino evenings that feel like they were made just for you.

A Blue Sky, Sunny Summer Evening

They stood together with the ocean in front of them and the cliffs behind, surrounded by nothing but sun, salt air, and each other. Their ceremony was simple, heartfelt, and so full of emotion.

Afterwards, we explored the rocks, danced in the warm light, and watched the sky soften into a dreamy early-evening glow. I could feel how much the experience meant to them, discovering Tofino for the very first time, while also celebrating one of the biggest moments of their lives.

Experiencing Tofino Together for the First Time

There was something incredibly special about witnessing them fall in love with Tofino at the same time as they celebrated their love for one another. It felt like everything aligned. The place, the weather, the quiet, the connection.

These are the days that make Tofino such a meaningful location for elopements. The energy is warm, grounding, and full of possibility.
